It is now possible to import the end customer’s VAT ID upon order creation via the Shopify app. You can find the corresponding setting in the Shopify assistant in the Order management step. There you have to enter the field name of the VAT ID on Shopify and can decide whether you want to save it at the billing and/or delivery address.

Important note:

Shopify does not offer a function to store a VAT ID as standard. However, this can be solved with third-party apps from the Shopify App Store or individual programming. It is important here that the VAT ID is stored as „Additional details“ on the respective Shopify order.
