Released: Introducing payment method mapping in Shopify
An update to the Shopify integration introduces a new feature that allows users to manually map payment methods from Shopify and define where the Transaction-ID should be imported from. As different businesses may use different payment processors or have unique accounting requirements, the manual mapping ensures that transactions are named correctly, reflecting the actual payment methods used by the business. By allowing users to additionally define where the Transaction-ID is imported from, this feature provides flexibility in data handling. Proper payment method mapping and Transaction-ID tracking help maintain accurate financial records, which are crucial for compliance with financial regulations and auditing requirements.
New configuration assistant for payment method mapping
With the release of the feature, a new configuration assistant will automatically be created in your system for every Shopify shop currently connected to your system.
To access the new feature, navigate to Setup » Assistants » Omni Channel » Payment methods mapping. Upon accessing the assistant, you will be able to choose for which of your Shopify shops you want to configure the payment method mapping. Click on the respective account tile to open the payment methods mapping assistant.
Step 1: Here you can see the Account-ID and hostname of the Shopify shop for which you are about to add a payment method mapping
Step 2: In the first field, provide an existing Shopify Order-ID from which the payment method should be mapped. In the second field provide the value of the Transaction-ID of the order so that upon import of future orders with the same payment methods the Transaction-ID will be saved accordingly.
Note: The Order-ID to be provided in this step is not a plenty Order-ID, but from Shopify. You can find it at the end of the URL if you open the order in your Shopify backend
Step 3: Here you can see the payment method from the Shopify order you previously provided as well as the name of the field from which the Transaction-ID was imported
Step 4: Select an active payment method from your system which you want to map to the previously selected Shopify payment method
Step 5: In the last step, a summary of all steps previously taken will appear. Click on finalize if the payment method mapping is complete and configured as desired.
The feature will be released to the systems on the following dates:
beta | 07 August 2024
early | 14 August 2024
stable | 21 August 2024
