The latest announcements and our product roadmap.
The new Item UI, still labelled as “Test phase” is in productive use for all new systems. We strive to provide everyone still operating on the former layout with a seamless transition to the new user interface.
We have been working diligently to ensure that all essential features found in the old version are integrated, so there is no need to compromise on functionality. Here are the specific adjustments we've made over the past few months:
Characteristics
The tab “Characteristics” of the old UI is now optionally available in the new Item UI. If you're using this feature at the moment, you can enable it under Setup → Item → Item UI → Show characteristics in new item UI sidebar
Fields
The tab „Fields“ of the old UI is now optionally available in the new Item UI. It can be activated under Setup → Item → Item UI → Show Free Text Fields
Instant search
When you enter the new item UI, the results of your default search are loaded directly.
Enabling "Enter" key in item-filters
Press the enter key and start the search for the applied filters.
Unsaved changes
Unified look and feel for the unsaved changes, marked with a blue dot instead of an asterisk.
Reorders linked in new user interface
Added link and view displaying the open purchase orders/reorders of an item. In the default view, this is implemented in the Variation Detail View → widget Stock → Three-dots-menu → Stock supply
Toolbar to subviews
In the subviews "Texts", "Characteristics", and "Fields" the same toolbar as in the item detail view is now available.
Configurable search
The search fields for the item search can now be selected, both in number and in order, as already possible in the Order UI.
Our goal for the current development cycle (until May) is to achieve feature parity with the old Item UI by implementing all missing features and functionalities affecting elements currently in use or development in the new Item UI. Ultimately, we will publish an end-of-life timeline and the migration plan for the old Item UI.
