The Channel Maps are designed to simplify and accelerate your product data mapping process by allowing the mapping of common fields across selected categories. The mapping of category-specific fields remained part of the catalogues. We're pleased to announce an enhancement extending the functionality of Channel Maps and creating a more unified and intuitive experience.

And there's more: Some additional functionalities enhancing the usability have been added to Channel Maps!

Mapping catalogue-specific fields in Channel Maps

With this release, we're consolidated the management of both common fields across categories and category-specific fields into a single, user-friendly interface within Channel Maps. This means you no longer need to switch between different screens to configure your product data mapping. Everything you need is now conveniently accessible in one place.

The result is a significantly streamlined mapping workflow. By bringing all field types together, we're reducing the number of clicks and the time it takes to prepare your item data for transfer to your chosen marketplaces.

This update is now live and available in your PlentyONE system. Simply navigate to the "Channel Maps" section under "Data" > "Catalogues" to experience the enhanced interface. In your Channel Maps interface you will now be able to see 2 different tabs, one for common fields and one for each set of specific fields that belong to the catalogues connected to that map. 

Further enhancements increasing usability

From now Channel Maps has also a set of additional features, that will enhance its usage even further:

1. Maps Deletion: it is now possible to delete a map, as long as no catalogues are connected to it; this can be done from the overview, by clicking on the 3 dots;

2. Search on detail page: you can now freely search fields on each catalogue and map;

3. Highlighting of missing mandatory fields: If a marketplace updates requirements related to mandatory fields, you will see it through a notification in the catalogue overview and on the detail page of the affected catalogue(s); this will be soon available also for maps;

4. Additional field information: a tooltip with useful information is now supporting your work, by giving you more information about what a field is and/or does.
