We’re excited to announce that we released our performance upgrade for fetching customer reviews for plentyShop PWA! By retrieving customer reviews from a dedicated microservice, we’ve addressed the need for faster, more reliable customer feedback processing. This feature enhances the user experience by providing quicker load times and greater stability, ensuring seamless interactions with pages that contain customer reviews.

The results speak for themselves:

We were able to reduce the average request time from 227 ms to around 77 ms for a page with just three customer reviews. This means we were able to cut the necessary time to load the data by around 65%. We expect even bigger time saves, the more customer review data is requested, which means larger shops with more reviews benefit greatly from this improvement. In the near future, we are even able to cache the results, to further lower the time required to fetch the data.

To summarise:

If you’re a user of plentyShop PWA and your items have customer reviews on them, your customers benefit from improved loading times when accessing the items page. Just update to the latest version of plentyShop PWA, and you’re good to go. 

What about plentyShop LTS?

We are basically finished with the development and are waiting for changes to our infrastructure that are necessary for plentyShop LTS to use the new microservice. We will keep you updated. You can also look out for the next version of the Feedback Plugin 4.10.
