The latest announcements and our product roadmap.
We’re thrilled to announce the new, fully integrated Google Analytics solution for the Shop. With this Google Analytics integration, you gain valuable insights into customer behaviour, helping you make informed decisions about your shop’s performance, marketing, and user experience.
Note: This integration is only for the new Shop. plentyShop LTS users can continue to rely on using Plugin solutions for tracking.
Managing your Google Analytics settings is now simpler than ever. To get started, simply navigate to Shop → Management → Select your application → Settings → SEO tab.
From there, you can:
Enable Google Analytics with a single toggle
Enter your Tracking ID (required for tracking)
Decide to send Gross or Net Prices to Google Analytics
Assign a Cookie Group and set opt-out options
We drastically increased the amount of events we track for the new shop. Not only automatically collected events, but also a variety of recommended events are now tracked by default.
Purchases & Cart Actions (purchase, add_to_cart, remove_from_cart)
Checkout Process (begin_checkout)
User Engagement (add_to_wishlist, sign_up, login, search)
We also track affiliation data, allowing you to see which external sources drive revenue. If a customer enters the shop via an advertisement, affiliate link, or partner referral, the referrer details are automatically attached to the tracking data. This enables:
More accurate attribution of sales to marketing channels
Better insights into affiliate performance
Optimized advertising spend and campaign tracking
You find all the details about our integration in our documentation.
If you want to know more about Google Analytics in general, you'll find a lot of information on the official documentation from Google
When using Google Analytics, you are obliged to provide information about how the data is used. We would like to point out that when using services that transfer personal data to a third country (e.g.: USA), the requirements for permissible data transfer in accordance with Art. 44 ff GDPR must be met. This is the case, for example, if Google Analytics is used.
