To ensure continued smooth operation of our Shopify integration, we will soon roll out changes to accommodate the new Shopify GraphQL API version 2024-10.

Planned Rollout Schedule

The update will be released in stages as follows:

• Beta: Wednesday, May 21, 2025

• Early: Wednesday, May 28, 2025

• Stable: Wednesday, June 4, 2025

Here's what you need to do

If you have already updated the Shopify app within the last few months, no action is required.

• In your PlentyONE backend: No action needed.

• In your Shopify backend: Please make sure that the PlentyONE Shopify app has been updated.

  • To do this, navigate to Apps > PlentyONE in your Shopify backend. A notification screen will be displayed there:

    

  • Click on ‘Update’ to grant the authorisation

If you have not yet carried out the update, exported products will no longer be published automatically. If you are affected by this:

1. Perform the app update in your Shopify backend (just one click).

2. Publish the affected products manually directly in Shopify.

Changes resulting from this update

As part of Shopify’s transition to GraphQL, Shopify changed the way product and image data are handled. These changes affect how products are exported and updated.

Impact of these changes

Product and image data are now processed in two separate steps, which may cause a short delay before newly exported or updated products appear completely in your Shopify store.

Detailed description

When you export or update a product from PlentyONE to Shopify:

• The product is initially created in Shopify as unpublished, without images.

• Around 30 minutes later, a second sync links the images and sets the product to published, making it visible in your store.

This applies to:

• Nightly item exports (for new products)

• Hourly item updates (for changes to existing products or variants)

Note: If a product has no images, it will be exported and published immediately – with no delay.

Further use cases

• You deleted images in PlentyONE
  → The images will be removed from your Shopify store within ~30 minutes.

• You changed product images in PlentyONE
  → The new images will appear in your Shopify store about 30 minutes after the rest of the product data has been updated.
  The item will remain published during this time.
