On 13 December 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) comes into effect and modernizes the general product safety framework within the European Union. In an announcement on July 10, 2024, we informed you that the mandatory details of an EU responsible person for products that fall under the regulation and whose manufacturer is not based in the EU, can now be entered in the system on the respective manufacturer (Setup » Items » Manufacturer » [Open manufacturer]).
Since then, the field EU responsible telephone number has been added here based on the requirements of the Amazon Marketplace. Furthermore, for users of FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), for example, the option for printing information on the best-before date and batch on item labels will be implemented by the end of calendar week 43.
The mandatory manufacturer information must be maintained for active listings on all marketplaces and stores by the effective date of December 13, 2024. The implementation of this data transfer has not yet been completed. In addition to the ability to export from plentysystems, the sales platforms must provide the technical prerequisites to receive the data and maintain it in the appropriate place.
The overview in the following forum thread shows the current status of implementation for each sales channel as well as a recommendation on the procedure for maintaining this information. Where technically necessary, it is recommended to maintain the data directly in the merchant portal of the respective platform, for example, if a reliable data transfer cannot be guaranteed by the deadline. This table is updated on an ongoing basis.

The information above relates to the addition of data fields to allow the required EU responsible person to be assigned to manufacturers and to identify the products in the consignment warehouse of the channels, if this has not already been done on the product packaging during production.
