DocumentBuilder: Temporary suspension of EOL start
Dear plenty users,
as I wrote in my reminder about the switch to DocumentBuilder, we are always in close internal consultation and discussions with every product and the associated releases and EOL plans in order to make any necessary adjustments. This is also the case with DocumentBuilder, about which we are now receiving a lot of user questions at short notice. In order to make it easier for you to switch to DocumentBuilder, to give plentyPartners the opportunity to process the increased number of enquiries on the subject and to give our support colleagues more time to respond adequately to your many questions, we have now decided to suspend the EOL start of this week Wednesday for the time being. The new roadmap will follow as soon as we have evaluated the issues that have reached us, especially in the last few days, and assessed them for possible implementation.
The DocumentBuilder is generally ready for the switch. In our new monitoring (only available for DocumentBuilder), we are seeing positive developments all round. The majority of customer feedback, both in public reviews and in direct dialogue with customers and partners, has been positive so far. We can see that it is stable and that the vast majority of systems have already switched to the first four document types to be converted. That’s good so far, because it means that the problems described here tend to occur with a very small number of plenty users.
New systems have only been delivered with the DocumentBuilder for months, with good results. Accordingly, we were surprised by the number of contributions that have now reached us. The topics of item characteristics and contact properties will be added next. In general, however, it is now primarily a matter of giving those who find it difficult to get started with the DocumentBuilder a little more time. As long as the missing switch is not due to the outdated options mentioned, we recommend that you do not postpone the whole thing unnecessarily.
Of course, we will now also use the time gained from the postponement to update the further planning of features. In order to create the necessary transparency here, we will publish an overview in the near future to ensure that we always have an up-to-date overview for you. As soon as this overview is available, I will link it here.
We are still happy to receive feedback and feature requests, but will treat them as always, i.e. analyse and prioritise them. We will also endeavour to answer you promptly and give you a classification.
We hope that this will take some of the pressure off you and give you the time you need to familiarise yourself with DocumentBuilder.
Our support team will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Once again, we would like to remind you that it may take a little longer for you to receive an answer in the forum due to the increased volume.
Best regards
