We are excited to announce that the development of our REST API Caching feature for plentyShop PWA is now complete and fully operational!

What does this mean for you?

By implementing REST API Caching, the data retrieved from plentysystems is temporarily stored, allowing subsequent requests to be served faster without having to process the same data repeatedly. This optimisation is currently active for all category and product pages and results in much quicker load times for customers.

It's active by default, and you don't have to do anything to benefit!

The Results?

• 51% improvement in loading times! Our test results show that pages load in an average of 460ms with caching, compared to 946ms without.

• Enhanced performance during high-traffic scenarios, helping your shop handle large volumes of customers seamlessly.

What’s next?

This is just the beginning. The potential to cache additional data and further improve performance will be possible in the future, ensuring that your webshop continues to deliver the best possible experience to your customers.
