The latest announcements and our product roadmap.
We announced the end of maintenance and support for the old email templates in the Setup » Client » [Select client] » Email » Templates menu in this thread.
Now we would also like to announce the EOL of the old email templates. We would like to give you a long period of time for the changeover and have therefore set the following dates for the deactivation of the old email templates:
29.05.2024 beta
05.06.2024 early
12.06.2024 stable
The following list shows some of the advantages of EmailBuilder compared to the old email templates:
Create email templates simply by drag-and-drop - no HTML knowledge required
Create one email template for all languages
Over 350 variables for maximum flexibility - the old email templates only had 271 variables.
Multiple attachments can be sent
Thanks to multipart sending, your emails are sent simultaneously in an HTML and a text version. There is therefore no need to create two versions.
Expert mode for individual requirements - instead of using widgets, the entire HTML structure can be defined within a code editor in expert mode. You can find more information on this in the forum and in the manual.

What else is planned for the EmailBuilder?
We are currently working on the following enhancements which will be implemented in the next few weeks:
If-else widget for easy use of complex settings
Revision of the variable list display
User-defined order document as a dynamic attachment in the EmailBuilder
Variables for supplier data
Improved selection of email templates in Messenger and in the email service
Overview of the use of EmailBuilder templates in automations
Easy access to variables in the subject line
Tours for the EmailBuilder
We have recently implemented the following functions:
In the future, we would like to implement the following topics in EmailBuilder. However, this will not be implemented in this operating plan:
Customisable column width of the navigation (currently in preparation by Team UX Core)
More variables
Optimisation of the widgets
We recommend that you migrate the old email templates to EmailBuilder as early as possible and not wait until shortly before the shutdown. Parallel operation until the shutdown date is possible. We recommend gradually updating migrated templates to the latest version (see dates above).
You can migrate all old templates to the EmailBuilder at once. You can also recreate the default templates if you have already deleted them.
If you have created additional templates via the menu Setup » Client » [Select client] » Email » Templates after you have already performed the migration, you can migrate each old template to the EmailBuilder manually with one click: Migrate single old template.
Check the content of the migrated templates in the CRM » EmailBuilder menu and make sure that the migration has transferred everything correctly to the EmailBuilder.
We particularly recommend a careful check if you have created complex templates using the old method that contain template functions or nested if statements, for example.
If necessary, you must then add the EmailBuilder variables to the migrated templates in the EmailBuilder. You can find the list of all available variables here.
Check all menus in your system in which you have linked email templates that are sent automatically.
Depending on which automation options you use in plentysystems, check the following places:
Event procedures
Automatic sending in the Setup » Client » Global » Email accounts menu in the Automatic despatch step
Processes
Procedure manager
Ticket event procedures
Ticket procedure manager
If you are already using EmailBuilder, you don't need to do anything else.
