We’re excited to share an update on the development of a GraphQL API for the Shop. We will be resuming work on a GraphQL API integration for fetching product data during the current development cycle after we have successfully implemented a prototype and proof of concept.
This is a significant step toward optimizing the performance of your online shop, especially for crucial pages like product listings and detail views, while giving a lot more flexibility to agencies.
Here's what this means for the shop
With GraphQL, we’re moving beyond the limitations of traditional APIs and old methods like result fields templates. This change simplifies development, reduces maintenance overhead for merchants, and ensures a smoother experience for both developers and customers.
We’re committed to delivering this feature as part of the mission to stay at the forefront of performance optimization and developer empowerment.
