We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Functions, a new data manipulation feature that makes managing product data across multiple marketplaces more flexible, accurate, and efficient than ever before.

We know that selling on different platforms means constantly battling varying requirements and tedious manual corrections. Functions are designed to eliminate this pain point, saving you valuable time and reducing the manual effort needed to get your product information just right for each channel.

Formula-based Data Manipulation

Functions allow you to apply powerful, Excel-like formulas to your product data. Functions can cover a wide range of use cases, so you don’t have to manually adjust item information.

They come on a dedicated interface, which makes it easy to create and manage Functions. You can use pre-built base functions or combine multiple options from a comprehensive library to build powerful, custom solutions without code.

Functions are fully integrated into familiar PlentyONE workflows and can be applied directly within catalogues, Channel Maps, and import processes. With this transformation logic you ensure that the right values are retrieved into and transferred out of your system.

Here's why this matters

You would like to launch quickly on new marketplaces, but after having spent time crafting and curating a perfectly maintained product catalogue, your data is rejected by the marketplace.

Every marketplace operates under its own set of rules. Product information accepted on one platform may not work on another. These differences are often found in seemingly minor details that can have major consequences for your listings: Character limits for product titles, HTML tags in descriptions, attribute formats and accepted values.

With Functions, you no longer need workarounds or manual corrections to comply with these specific requirements. Instead, you can now use a formula to automatically convert "Navy" to "Blue," remove HTML, shorten product titles to meet specific character limits. Automate the transformation once, reuse it, and trust that your data is always correct. Availability limited to 'Ultimate' plan

This initial release of Functions is available exclusively to users on our Ultimate plan. This feature leverages significant computing resources, and is most relevant for our clients with large, complex product assortments. We’ll closely monitor usage and feedback to explore offering tailored versions for other plans in the future.
