To ensure a more stable foundation, we are starting the End-of-Life (EOL) process for older plugin versions.

Here's what's changing

Currently, the plugin is still being used alongside the core integration, but this is only a transitional phase as we move towards a core-only implementation.

This mixed setup introduces multiple potential points of failure, especially due to the broad usage of different plugin versions. For example, we still see usage of version 2.8.15, which was released in 2022. As a result, future development becomes more error-prone and complex, since we cannot rely on a shared, consistent foundation.

The main challenges we face include:

• Incomplete or incompatible migrations from older plugin versions

• Significant changes introduced in later versions

• The technical overhead of maintaining backward compatibility with all previous releases

To improve stability and simplify support, the minimum required version for any new plugin installations or updates will now be 2.10.2.

Timeline & Impact

End-of-maintenance (EOM): Effective immediately

• New plugin installations should use version 2.10.2 or newer

• Updates to versions below 2.10.2 are not to be done

• Older versions will no longer be supported

Existing installations using older versions will continue to work but will not be supported in case of issues. We strongly recommend updating to the latest supported version as soon as possible.
