With the new plentyShop LTS version 5.0.62 we bring you a major update full of performance improvements, SEO settings and, as always, bug fixes and small usability improvements.

The highlight of this version are the new image formats WebP and AVIF, which you can display for your product images. With these modern image formats, you can achieve up to ~50% savings in file size with comparable quality. This leads to a significant reduction in the amount of data that needs to be loaded when visiting your online store and therefore to reduced loading times.

What do you have to do?

Simply check the box "Automatic conversion to modern image formats (WebP, AVIF)" in the plentyShop LTS Assistant under Performance. You can further improve your store performance by activating the new option "Fix header on top". This can also be found in the plentyShop LTS wizard under Performance.

This allows you to reduce the so-called Content Layout Shift (CLS), which can be caused by the header. Reduced CLS increases the user-friendliness of the store and achieves better values in performance measurement tools such as Google Page Speed Insights.

Please note, however, that this can lead to a change in the behavior of your header. If necessary, consult with your agency if you are using a theme. All changes and necessary steps after this update can be found in the changelog or in the forum.
