Today we would like to inform you about an important change that affects the use of our DHL Preferred Delivery plugin.

The DHL Preferred Delivery plugin is used as an extension to the DHL Shipping and offers buyers various options to personalise their parcel delivery experience in the checkout.
Although previous DHL Preferred Delivery version are compatible with the DHL Shipping core integration, a dependency to the DHL Shipping plugin was still in the code. Because of the already ongoing discontinuation (EOL) and the upcoming deactivation of the DHL Shipping plugin, an update of the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin is now necessary.

Reasons for updating to version 2.0.0

The DHL Shipping plugin will soon be deactivated and is no longer supported. This means that older versions of the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin, which still rely on the DHL Shipping plugin, will no longer be able to function smoothly.

To ensure that DHL Preferred Delivery continues to function fully and reliably, it is therefore imperative that you update to the new version 2.0.0 of the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin. This new version has been specifically designed to work directly with our current core integration without the need to install the DHL Shipping plugin.

Please note: All versions of the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin prior to 2.0.0 will officially reach their end-of-life (EOL) on Wednesday, 13 August 2025. After this date, these older plugin versions will no longer start and service outages may occur.

Necessary steps

If you are currently using the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin, we urge you to update to version 2.0.0 as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in service and continue to benefit from the advantages of the DHL Preferred Delivery plugin.
