We’ve made significant progress in regard to enhancing the performance in shipping profile determination. The tests went very well, and we now achieve much shorter times in determining shipping profiles, even with significantly more active shipping profiles.
As an example, with 20 active shipping profiles in the system, the results are as follows:

10 order items = 0.018 seconds
20 order items = 0.025 seconds
30 order items = 0.048 seconds
Even though these times are from the test environment, they are significantly faster than before and deliver results where the old logic would already have failed.
The new UI for fallback shipping profiles is also complete. It enables the definition of one fallback per client or, if desired, even per shipping region within each client. We are now entering the final testing phase and handing the system over to the Fulfilment Team as well as our Webshop Team for intensive testing to ensure we haven’t overlooked any cases in determining shipping profiles.
At the same time, we are preparing documentation to explain the changes in shipping profile determination. Afterwards, we plan to activate the new shipping profile calculation in consultation with specific customers to gather further results. Once these are positive, we will make the logic available to more or even all customers. They will then have the option to activate it voluntarily to test it and provide feedback.
