Released: New Version 1.6 for plentyShop PWA

We’re excited to announce the release of plentyShop PWA Version 1.6, packed with new functionality, usability improvements, and fixes for known issues. Here are the highlights:

Notable Changes in This Release:

GPSR Compliance

Product pages now display the EU Responsible Person for the manufacturer, ensuring compliance with the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR). This update helps plentyShop PWA users meet essential safety requirements.

New PayPal Features

The PayPal "Pay Later" banner, which helps customers find the right payment plan, is now available on product pages, the cart, checkout, and quick checkout. We've also revamped the PayPal credit card form, giving it a more modern and user-friendly design.

Enhanced SEO Capabilities

plentyShop PWA now automatically utilises the SEO data you manage for your items, categories, and images. This ensures better visibility and performance on search engines.

Here are some examples:

  • The app reads the head title and title suffix from the environment.

  • Metadata for products and categories is now automatically integrated from the environment.

  • Title and alternate text for product images are now read from the environment.

  • The minimum required Open Graph data (title, image, and endpoint) is now pulled from the environment.

  • Canonical meta tags have been added to product pages for SEO optimisation.

Accessibility Improvements

As part of our preparation for the European Accessibility Act 2025, we’ve begun implementing best practices to enhance accessibility across plentyShop PWA. Early results show promise, with Google PSI giving plentyShop PWA a perfect score of 100 on most pages.

Redesigned Checkout UX and Address Management

We’ve completed a full redesign and refactor of the checkout page, especially focusing on address management. This has improved the underlying logic, making it more robust and enhancing overall usability. We’ve already gathered valuable feedback from internal and external stakeholders and will continue refining this area.

MVP3 concluded

With the redesign to the checkout process, we also conclude our roadmap target "plentyShop PWA: Rollout of MVP 3". You can view the full list of features planned for this milestone in the original announcement.
