The latest announcements and our product roadmap.
The DocumentBuilder will soon replace the old document templates. Following the suspension of the original EOL dates, some technical adaptations and the announcement of the EOM, we are hereby announcing a new EOL timeline.
Please read the following points carefully, as action is required if you are not yet using DocumentBuilder for all your document templates.
The discontinuation will be executed in two groups of document types. This prevents you from having to switch all document types at once. Regardless, we recommend that you switch all document types to the DocumentBuilder as soon as possible to avoid running into predicaments.
Reorder, PO delivery note, Delivery note, Order confirmation, Pick-up delivery, Offer, Repair slip, Return slip, Entry certificate, Pro forma invoice, Adjustment form
29th January 2025 | beta
5th February 2025 | early
12th February 2025 | stable
Dunning letter, Reversal dunning letter, Credit note, Reversal credit note, Invoice, Reversal invoice, Multi credit note, Multi-invoice
26th February 2025 | beta
5th March 2025 | early

The respective document types will be switched to the DocumentBuilder on the specified date. By then, you must have created a template for the document types with the DocumentBuilder, otherwise it may no longer be possible to create documents of this type. We will remind you about the changeover regularly.
You can find the DocumentBuilder in the menu under Setup » Documents » DocumentBuilder. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the options offered by the DocumentBuilder at an early stage and do not switch too late.
Yes, this is actually our recommendation. The earlier you switch, the sooner we can help you if you need support. The closer to the EOL date you switch, the more likely it is that you will have to wait longer for support.
You can switch document types individually. To do this, go to the menu under Setup » Documents » Settings. As soon as you switch a document type, the DocumentBuilder is used – so make sure that you have created a template for this document type beforehand.
As long as the EOL date has not been reached, you can also switch back to the old template and setup in this UI if necessary.
As soon as you switch to DocumentBuilder, the new logic is also activated in the background and the documents are generated asynchronously. This means that the generation times may differ. You probably won't notice any time difference compared to the old logic. Rather, we now have the technical advantage to track more precisely what happens at what time and intercept any errors or react to them directly.
However, the asynchronous generation requires adaptations to event procedures and processes.
Processes:
The document generation is triggered by the sub-procedures Print, Save and Generate. We recommend that you use the sub-procedure "Generate" at the start of a process to be able to retrieve the documents with the other sub-procedures Save and Print without any issues.
Event procedures:
As soon as a document has to be available for an action, a separate event procedure should be created for this. In this case, existing event procedures should be separated. For example, if you have a combined event procedure for generating a document and then sending it by email, you should split this event procedure into two procedures. This way, the email is only sent when the document is available.
In case of questions, we have put together a FAQ DocumentBuilder, which we maintain and constantly expand as required. You can also find an entry for the DocumentBuilder in the manual and if you have any questions or need support, you can also contact our support team as usual.
