We're excited to share our next big step in improving the performance of the Shop. While we've already made significant strides—especially when compared to the LTS version—there’s still more potential to unlock.
To reduce loading times on all pages caused by repeated requests for template data, we’re introducing template caching. This will significantly improve the load time when accessing the Shop for the first time.
Additionally, we'll be implementing a prewarming mechanism that kicks in after major cache resets and preemptively fills the cache for your most visited sites again.
These two features will work together to ensure that your shop feels fast and responsive—every time.
Purpose of the project
Performance isn’t just a technical detail—it’s a business driver. High PageSpeed Insights (PSI) scores for example can be recognized as a strong signal for both excellent user experience and better visibility in search results.
With this initiative, we’re raising the bar. Your shop will benefit from faster load times, right out of the box, without the need for costly third-party optimizations.
